Why IV

As science and the field of Optimum Performance and Anti Aging evolve, so do the ways in which we can nutritionally feed our cells the natural way. Granted, Nutrients were and are meant to be absorbed in the gut. But, in today’s world of fast foods, processed foods, higher farming turnover rate, and toxins that pollute our bodies daily, the expected absorption through the intestinal tract has become limited in many if not most of us. Or the amount of nutrients being absorbed are just not in the amount needed for Optimum Cell Performance.

Food or multivitamins, must be chewed or swallowed whole. They pass down the esophagus to the stomach where the acidic environment begins the breakdown. The small intestine then starts the process of digestion and absorption. Enzymes break the food stuff down into their smaller molecular pieces, and eventually to amino acids (the building blocks of proteins).  Assimilating the vitamins and minerals from our food is a long and complex process. Furthermore, it has been studied that about only 6% to 12% of all orally consumed Vitamins, Minerals, and Amino Acids are actually absorbed in the supplement form.  While the intake of these orally consumed nutrients is a daily way to maintain a certain level of health and well-being, it rarely accomplishes the ultimate goal of complete cellular saturation. Hence, the process of aging, lack of energy, sub optimal sports performance, and increased risk of metabolic diseases.

There are many steps that can be interrupted, and this is where vitamin IV therapy comes in. 100 percent absorption is ensured through IV vitamin therapy because the vitamins, minerals and Amino Acids in some of our unique formulas can be administered directly to the blood. Therefore, many different types of patients can benefit from vitamin therapy, and much more efficiently than by taking food or medication orally which is simply just enough to get by and live but not to live at your best.

Who can benefit from nutritional IV therapy?

Everybody can benefit from vitamin drips! Today, most people are under chronic stress, not getting enough sleep or adequate nutrition, and are feeling run-down, tired and in pain. In our practice while we deal with all variety’s patients, the majority come from an active and athletic competitive lifestyle. We need to consider exercise in two perspectives, regular exercise which is wonderful for the human body and Extreme exercise which encompasses that of more than 5 hours a week. The extreme loads of the endurance and competitive athlete super exceed the body’s ability to satisfy proper cellular recovery or of IV therapy is a great way to address any deficiencies in vitamins or minerals and reach optimal nutrient levels and hydration status.

· In acute cases, IV therapy is a great tool to treat migraines, headaches, colds, flus, seasonal allergies, morning sickness during pregnancy, fatigue and hangovers.

· In chronic cases, IV therapy can be used to treat diseases such as:

· Rheumatoid arthritis

· Cancer

· Crohn’s disease

· Ulcerative colitis

· Lupus

· Chronic fatigue syndrome

· Asthma

· Depression

· Drug addiction

· Fibromyalgia

· Adrenal insufficiency or adrenal fatigue

No matter how clean you eat, food today doesn’t have the same nutrient density that it once did.  Therefore IV nutrition therapy can be a fantastic place to start to receive the missing nutrients. Furthermore, for nutrients to reach the blood, food has to be digested and absorbed efficiently. Gut health must be optimal for this to occur.

Should I consider IV Cellular Nutrition therapy if I don’t have any of the above listed metabolic issues?

Absolutely, IV Cellular Nutrition is the evolution of supplying your bodies cells with the Vitamins, Minerals, and Amino Acids used every second of the day in keeping the chemical reactions responsible for life, and energy production working at optimal levels as they once did when you were going through puberty. IV Cellular Nutrition can also assist with:

· Enhancing quality of life

· Improving athletic performance

· Speeding up recovery time from injury and athletic training

· Slowing down the effects of aging

Is IV Cellular Nutrition Safe?

Negative reactions are slim to none since this procedure is proven to be advantageous and safe.  What ultimately makes it safe is the source that the IV is coming from, how it is prepared, that a Medical Doctor is overseeing the facility and all practices, that the staff administering the IV are Licensed and Certified Health Professionals, and that the facility is clean.  Here at Muscle Repair 4 Athletes, our staff is all of the above and more.  We welcome you to a tour of our facility.

As with any form of treatments, there is always a risk  and we advise all of our patients of such possible risks.  These risks can include:

  • Infiltration- Infusion of the IV Liquid outside the vein into the surrounding soft tissue.  Little consequences occur as the fluid is absorbed.  None of our IV formulas contain any ingredient that is toxic to surrounding tissue.
  • Hematoma- Small leakage of blood from the vein that gets trapped under the skin.  Will go away in a week and harmless
  • Phlebitis & Thrombophlebitis- Inflammation of the vein due to the PH of the formula.  In laymen terms, the vein get irritated internally and swells with some pain the next day and subsides with a week or two.  Generally occur more with the use of angiocatheter as opposed to a needle as metal is less irritating to the vein.  We use butterfly needles.
  • Air Embolism-A large volume of air entering the patient via the IV.  The IV line should be clear of bubbles.  General tubing contains approximately 13 CC's of air.  We can tolerate up to 1 CC per kilogram of weight of air.  We pride ourselves in ensuring no air is in your line and in your best experience while seeking health.

While these risks are the most common, they are very rare.  Nevertheless, it is our responsibility to inform you.

How long does a session take?

Depending on the formula, anywhere from 1 - 4 hours.  Most are only 1 hour.  We only have 1 IV that can take up to 4 hours which is the NADH used during the saturation phase of the Performance Plan.

What are the IV's made of?

Pharmaceutical Compounded Vitamins, Minerals, and Amino Acids which are all found in the body.

What should I feel after?

Depending on your current nutritional and hydration status, you may see dramatic effects after the first IV.   High energy, great sleep, super athletic performance are all commonly felt results.  Some people may feel worse and experience nausea, headaches, and lack of energy.  This thought to be a result of toxins being cleared from your body as a result of the  high concentration of nutrients your cells were lacking.   After the second or third treatment, they start to feel great.

Who should or should not do this?

If you suffer from certain health conditions, kidney problems, retain fluids, or have allergies you will need physician clearance before being allowed to receive IV Treatment.  Also, if you have high blood pressure, it will need to be controlled prior to being allowed to sit for IV Treatment.  Due to the increased fluids being provided, blood pressure may increase temporarily in some people.  To avoid any possible contraindications, our staff will monitor your blood pressure both pre and post treatment.  If your blood pressure is elevated upon finishing you treatment, you will be required to stay in the waiting room until it returns to normal.  This generally takes approximately 30 minutes in our experience.

Is it expensive?

Expensive is relative to the benefits received and your personal level of how important your health is to you.

IV therapy is a premium service that improves your body's performance enormously. It an investment, so if you compare the price against the benefits you receive form it, you'll find it's worth it.  Users agree that preventative medicine such as IV Therapy strengthens their immune system, helping them avoid expensive doctor visits and prescription medication that come from something like a cold or allergy.
